Want to explore Philadelphia? Join us in October for Open Source, the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program's groundbreaking outdoor exhibition of temporary, site-specific work. The works, created by 14 extraordinary artists from around the world, range from sculpture to community murals to street art, and examine the city, its strengths, and its challenges through the Mural Arts' lens of social and artistic practice. See JR's soaring, 25-story Migrants, Ibrahim, Mingora-Philadelphia, skate over Jonathan Monk's Pyramid, add objects to Sam Durant's 40 by 40 foot maze right across from City Hall, and see and do so much more.
You can take one of our special guided Open Source tours, opening up a citywide public art extravaganza, or take a self-guided tour, fitting the exhibitions in to your schedule. You can join us for parties, lectures, and educational events with world renowned artists and thinkers at interesting venues throughout the city. You can spend time at our Hub Space in Center City Philadelphia, and get more information about our happenings, check out what's going on within the space, or connect with other people who are fascinated by art and ideas. Once you've walked Philly from corner to corner, you can take advantage of the Mural Arts Family and Friends discount at the Sonesta Hotel. Make a reservation online using Mural Arts' special discount code, MAFF, and wake up the next morning rested and ready to see more fantastic art in the city.
See you in October!
